Hard Skin (Callus)

Introduction to Hard Skin

Callus occurs due to hyperkeratosis. Hyperkeratosis is the thickening of the skin due to pressure. Callus can occur over bony prominences, on the ball of the foot or on the heel. Callus often occurs due to prolonged standing and may result in chronic pain.A callus appears as yellow or dark brown discoloured skin.

Understanding this condition

  • Pain on weight bearing, relieved by rest.
  • A hard growth of skin, usually on the ball of the foot.
  • Increased discomfort in thin soled shoes or high heeled shoes

Customer Review

"I have very dry hard skin on my feet. If I do not moisturize them at least once a day (sometimes twice a day) they are still hard. I have been looking for the best moisturizing cream to use. Then I tried your Flexitol Heel Balm and have been using it for 10 to 12 months and it works great. It's really helped especially in the winter. I can walk pain free! Thanks for a great product that does what it claims."
